Kadapa: The Bandh organised by opposition parties demanding the Central government to set up steel plant in Kadapa district concluded peacefully on Friday. Activists from various opposition parties - Congress, YSR Congress, CPI, CPM and Jana Sena participated in the bandh.

Business establishments, hotels, cinema halls, private and public schools remained closed from the morning and vehicular traffic was restricted due to bandh. In the absence of vehicular movement, towns like Kadapa , Badvel, Rayachoti, Proddaturu, Rajampet, Railway Kodur, Jammalamadugu etc wore deserted look.

APSRTC has stopped operating its services from early hours as protesters obstructed vehicles to move out from the depots. In Proddaturu YSR Congress MLA R Siva Prasad Reddy along with party men went round the town and asked the business establishments to close down shops.

In Railway Kodur, YSR Congress activists, led by MLA K Srinivasulu disrupted the vehicular traffic on state high way between Kadapa –Tirupati. In Vempalli, CPI, CPM, ASFI activists formed human chain, while YSR Congress functionaries performed bike rally in the town. In Badvel town bandh was complete as locals voluntarily participated in the stir.
