Rain water submerges many areas in Guntur city
Several areas were waterlogged in Guntur city due to rain on Thursday. Rain water entered Kannavarithota, Brodipet, Arundalpet, Swarnabharatinagar, Ramakrishnapuram and other localities.
Guntur: Several areas were waterlogged in Guntur city due to rain on Thursday. Rain water entered Kannavarithota, Brodipet, Arundalpet, Swarnabharatinagar, Ramakrishnapuram and other localities.
These areas were submerged under the sheet of one feet rainwater. The Public Health Department had dug roads to lay pipes for underground drainage system. After laying the pipelines, the roads and potholes on the roads were not properly filled.
The bike riders and pedestrians are facing lot of problems. Due to heavy mud on the roads, the vehicles stuck in the mud at Guntur Medical College Road, Railway quarters and Kannavarithota areas. Pedestrians are facing a lot of problems to walk on the road in the rain water.
Similarly, Litigants going to district courts are also facing many troubles due to bad condition of the roads. Students going to medical college also faced inconvenience due to bad condition of the roads.
G Srinivasa Rao, a bike rider on the medical college road said, the Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) has to speed up road laying works.
