Vijayawada: Joint Commissioner of Police Kanti Rana Tata appreciated the work of Sudheekshan Foundation, which has been providing artificial limbs to the persons, who lost their limbs in accidents. He complimented donors and NRIs who donated the limbs to the needy.

The Sudheekshan Foundation arranged artificial limbs to 12 persons, including six children and six students, at a meeting organised at Command and Control office on MG Road here on Friday.

The JCP said that efforts have been made in the limits of police commissionerate to decrease the number of accidents by taking several measures. Vijayawada would be made accident-free city, he announced.

Chigurupati Vimala, founder of the Sudheekshan Foundation, said that the foundation since 2007 has been creating awareness among people in general and students in particular regarding the accidents and precautions to be taken to prevent accidents.

The foundation has been motivating the donors to provide artificial limbs to the persons, who lost their limbs in accidents, she added. NV Srinivasa Rao, Kota Rajasekharam, Haji Mohmmad, Mukalal Appa Rao, Rachakonda Rajakumari, and Motukuri Venkateswara Rao, secretary of District Senior Citizens Welfare Association, Margaret and donors Dr Venugopal, Donepudi Satish and Venkat and others were also present.
