Nellore: Minister for IT and Panchayat Raj Nara Lokesh demanded the opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy and JanaSenachief Pawan Kalyan to show their might before the Centre to get Special Category Status to the state. He spoke at DalitaTejam meeting here on Saturday and alleged that Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan had taken a U-turn and failed to question the Union Government on poor allocations of funds to the state.

Nara Lokesh termed ‘BJP’ as ‘Bharatiya Janata Party-Jaganmohan Reddy and Pawan Kalyan’. He said the BJP leaders and Janasena Chief were trying to create differences between regions in the state demanding declarations. He said as soon as TDP withdrawn its support to the NDA, BJP leaders immediately announced Rayalaseema Declaration. He said even though the state was facing financial crunch with a deficit of Rs. 16,000 Cr they remembered welfare of Dalit population allocating huge budget for their development.
He said when then Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy allocated Rs. 23,000 Cr for 23 districts, Chandrababu had provided Rs. 40,000 Cr within four years. He quipped that he has been slow when compared to his father and the Chief Minister Naidu. He said would continue for next 40 years in politics. He asked the participants to support for winning 25 MP seats in the state as Chandrababu is going to decide future Prime Minister of the Country.
Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said that state government had started ‘DalitaTejam-Telugu Desam’ programme to resolve issues of the Scheduled Caste population. He said 190 welfare schemes have been implemented by the state government for the uplift of the Dalit people. 95 to 97 percent of welfare schemes are being utilized by the SC population, he added. State government had taken a special drive to create awareness among Scheduled Caste population on the welfare schemes of the state government, he added.
RTC Chairman Varla Ramaiah who played lead role in the meet said that the TDP had preferred people from the Scheduled Castes as Assembly Speaker, LS Speaker and many other crucial positions. Minister for Social Welfare Nakka Ananda Babu said that the residential education for the students belong to Scheduled Caste had started in the Telugu Desam regime only under the leadership of former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao.
Minister for Excise K S Jawahar Babu said that the TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu had encouraged leadership from Scheduled Castes across the state. He urged the Dalit population to recognize services of the state government for welfare of the community population. AP Ministers B Akhila Priya, Paritala Sunita, Peethala Sujatha, Kollu Ravindra, MLC Jupudi Prabhakar Rao, legislators from reserved constituencies across the state have participated in the meeting.
