Wife of a constable was battling for life with 90 per cent burn injuries at the Government General Hospital here after attempting to end her life.
Vijayawada: After the ghastly suicide of a young man, who jumped in front of a running train in Vijayawada, due to family disputes, another horrible incident came to light in the city on Wednesday. Wife of a constable was battling for life with 90 per cent burn injuries at the Government General Hospital here after attempting to end her life.
According to Singh Nagar police, K Lakshmi Prasanna, who married a constable five years ago, doused her body with kerosene and attempted to end her life on June 30 due to harassment of her husband, Murali Krishna, constable working at Ajit Singh Nagar Police Station. The incident came to light only on Wednesday and ghastly image of wife with more than 90 per cent burns went viral in social media.
People are shocked to see the pitiable condition of the woman. It was a love marriage and the couple was blessed with a baby. On June 30, a dispute broke out between the couple. She doused her body with kerosene and set herself ablaze to end her life.
She was rushed to the GGH where she is battling for life with 90 per cent burn injuries. The woman had alleging that her husband Murali was sadist and harassing her. Ajit Singh Nagar Police registered a case and took up investigation.
