Vijayawada: City cyber crime police have acquired state-of-art technology and advanced software to detect thecybercrimes, particularly on mobile phones and computers. This technology will be useful to retrieve the photos, videos, and other stored or deleted data from over 1,800 types of mobile phones belonging to various companies.
The cyber crime police can retrieve data from oldest Nokia model to latest I-phones and prove the guilt committed by the criminals. Many culprits are in the perception that they could commit a crime and get away by deleting videos and photos from smart phones. But, now onwards, it is not easy to escape simply by deleting videos and images from cell phones.
It is a normal practice that lovers take pictures when they spend time together. If they break up, the boyfriends are sharing the images with their friends and even uploading in YouTube spoiling the lives of girls and women.
The criminals are using mobile phones to shoot the heinous act of rape and later sexually exploiting the victims intimidating that they would upload the video in YouTube. Many helpless victims are paying heavy price by blindly trusting their boyfriends and lovers.
A barbaric incident of rape and video shooting came to light in Agiripallimandal of Krishna district recently. A BTech student was drugged and raped by the senior students of the same college. Later, they posted in WhatsApp group by morphing their faces and showing the face of girl student. The horrible incident shocked the people of Krishna district. Now, the accused are in jail.
In such cases, the culprits simply delete the videos and try to escape punishment. Now, the city cyber police have acquired late technology, which can retrieve the deleted videos and photos from mobiles.
Circle inspector of cyber crime station K Srinivasa Rao told The Hans India the cyber police can retrieve erased and deleted data from over 1,800 types of mobile phones. He said the advanced software can’t be infected with virus and it is very safe. He said a lot of information which is useful to detect the crimes can be stored henceforth and added the criminals could not lie and mislead police and the victims.
Similarly, the police can also get information where and when the criminals have shot the video or taken the photographs of victims or persons. Other information can be traced with the help of mobile equipment identification number, he added.
With many cyber crime cases of cheating, sending abusive messages on phones via SMS, on WhatsApp, Facebook and other means of social media are reported, the police are fully equipped to detect the criminals and punish them as per the law.
With smart phones at reasonable price, every household has at least 3-4 smart phones. In this backdrop, youngsters are using cell phones for wrong purposes and spoiling the lives of others along with their future and career. Cyber crime stationSI Vasireddy Srinivas said the new cyber station will have two labs to detect the financial crimes and other crimes related to personal lives of the people.
