CPI: Act against encroachers

Guntur: CPI district secretary J Ajay, demanded that the officials take stern action against those who are trying to encroach island lands in Amaravati.

The party leaders and activists protested at ZP meeting hall here on Tuesday. Speaking on this occasion, he said that poor Dalits got islands from the British government.

He submitted a memorandum to the District Collector, Kona Sasidhar in the grievance hall. He informed that after constructing Nagarjunasagar project, some farmers were getting irrigation water and some islands were facing flood threat.

He said that farmers were facing a lot of problems due to encroachers’ threat and warned that if the officials did not take action, they would take up agitation.
