Amaravati: The schedule for monsoon session of AP Assembly will be decided by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu during the TDP general body meeting which will be held on Thursday.

As the Opposition YSRCP already boycotted the Assembly for the last two sessions and now it has no voice in Parliament, the TDP is going to make use of this opportunity once again effectively.

On the same day, the party is also going to organise Parliamentary Party meeting, where Chandrababu Naidu will guide the party MPs on the strategy to be adopted in the ensuing Monsoon Session of Parliament.

This is going to be the second Parliament session after the TDP withdrew from NDA and also the first session after the resignation of YSRCP Lok Sabha members.

Now the TDP has advantage over the YSRCP in Parliament and could raise voice against the Centre on behalf of Andhra Pradesh regarding unfulfilled promises under Reorganisation Act.

TDP certainly will use this opportunity to get more political mileage, observed a senior leader in the party. In the general body meeting, Chandrababu Naidu will also finalise the detailed schedule for Grama Darsini – Grama Vikasam programme and will discuss with the Ministers, MLAs, MLCs, MPs and other senior party leaders.

The TDP supremo planned all together 75 public meetings within next six months, expecting early polls for the Lok Sabha. The party will also discuss on the ensuing Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman elections, where it will play crucial role.

TDP has six members in the Rajya Sabha including Y S Chowdary, Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar, C M Ramesh, Garikapati Mohan Rao, Thota Seetharama Lakshmi and TG Venkatesh. On the other hand, the YSRCP has two members including V Vijayasai Reddy and Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy.

The BJP is looking to secure the Deputy Chairman post by creating a consensus among its alliance parties and supporters. It is clear that the TDP will not vote to the NDA candidate anyway in this election.

Vijayasai Reddy recently informed The Hans India that his party would decide on the Deputy Chairman’s election just before the commencement of the winter session of Parliament.
