Left parties signature campaign over Prakasam district backwardness held
CPI, CPM and a few public forums organised a signature campaign at the District Collectorate, demanding that the government announce the district as backward district and allocate Rs 10,000 crore for its development
Ongole: CPI, CPM and a few public forums organised a signature campaign at the District Collectorate, demanding that the government announce the district as backward district and allocate Rs 10,000 crore for its development.
The speakers including district CPI secretary ML Narayana, CPM district secretary Punati Anjaneyulu, retired joint collector Shamsher Ahmed and others said that the government was neglecting the district by all means.
They said that the district was suffering from continuous drought, scarcity of drinking and irrigation water, migrations of people and students as there were no industries, university and educational institutions.
They said that the completion of Veligonda project, industries at NIMZ, construction of Ramayapatnam port etc would bring the jobs and employment options to the people in the district and helps the district to develop.
They requested the public to support the meeting scheduled on July 22 by all public organisations for the development of the district and sign the petitions demanding that the government allocate Rs 10,000 crore for the district.
