Kakinada: Senior BJP leader and party Mahila Morcha president D Purandeswarai alleged that the media in AP was not extending support to BJP activities in the form of meagre coverage even to Union Ministers programmes.

Speaking to the mediapersons who met her at R and B guest house here on Saturday, the former Union minister, who is on a two-day visit to East Godavari district under Sampark Abhayan quoted the coverage given to Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and JP Nadda during the last two days.

Purandeswari said that the programmes of both Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Nadda found little place in vernacular dailies. She said that she is on a tour to the district following the directions of party national president Amit Shah. Referring to Centre’s schemes, she said the Centre had sanctioned Rs 200 crore to Kakinada under Amrut scheme.
