Create efficient mechanism to realise investments: Naidu
During a teleconference, Naidu discussed on the impact of the World Cities Summit and its prospects besides giving directions on future investments in Amaravati
Vijayawada: Buoyed with the grand success of three-day tour to Singapore in showcasing Amaravati as a mighty economic growth centre during the World Cities Summit(WCS)-18, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed the AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) and other officials of various departments to create a highly efficient mechanism for 24x7 persuasion for realising investments assured by global corporates.
Naidu said the highly effective mechanism would be useful in resolving any bottlenecks arising in grounding the mega projects and he also wanted to involve industries, IT, Economic Development Board and other key departments in this process. “We should have a clear-cut action plan with timelines to further the progress of building the Amaravati which will help to attract more investments in future,” he added.
During a teleconference, Naidu discussed on the impact of the World Cities Summit and its prospects besides giving directions on future investments in Amaravati. He said the brand image of Amaravati enhanced by manifolds with the high appreciation from delegates of WCS. “The mayors of 165 cities across the world praised the Amaravati that it will be a new generation capital which will be a blend of technology, innovation and culture.
They appreciated it as a role model because of its best practices in renewable energy, solid waste management, electric vehicles, water management, energy efficiency and transportation. We have already created a history by attracting an investment target of Rs 16.04 lakh crore for which we entered MoUs.
As we have a gigantic target, the authorities should work more efficiently as per our promise to investors on global platforms,” said the Chief Minister. “We have already developed a single desk bureau in granting clearances for industries. These efforts put the state on top in ranking 1st in Ease of Doing Business,” Naidu said.
Impressed with the potential investment opportunities in Amaravati, several global corporate groups such as Lodha group, SMH Rail of Malaysia, Eli Hajaj group of Israel and Fotescue Metals came forward to invest in various fields-malls and entertainment sector, metro rail manufacturing and produce aircraft components, Naidu said and directed the CRDA commissioner Ch Sreedhar to invite all 165 representatives/mayors in the forthcoming happy cities summit to be held at Vijayawada/ Amaravati for obtaining their valuable views and sharing of best practices.
Municipal administration minister P Narayana, special chief secretary to Chief Minister,Satish Chandra, principal secretary to Chief Minister G Sai Prasad, Amaravati Development Corporation ChairpersonLakshmi Parthasaradhi, principal secretary (energy)Ajay Jain, CRDA commissioner Ch Sreedhar and other officials participated in the tele-conference.
