Visakhapatnam: Andhra University Vice-Chancellor Prof G Nageswara Rao said that more number of books should be published to keep abreast of developments on contemporary issues in Indian languages.

Releasing a book "Sathamanam Bhavathi" authored by Dr P K Jayalakshmi, head of department of Hindi, St Joseph's College for Women, here on Monday, the VC praised Prof Milena Bratoeva, Head of Department of East Culture, University of Sofia, Bulgaria, Europe, who has been teaching Hindi and Sanskrit in Europe and for her contributions to Hindi language and literature.

Prof Milena Bratoeva, Head of Department of East Culture, University of Sofia, Bulgaria, Prof K V Ramana, Dr K Shanti, Krishnaveer Abhishek and B V K Chaitanya were present.

Earlier, the VC inaugurated a one-week short-term course on "Research Methodology" organised by the UGC HRD centre of AU. On the occasion, Prof Nageswara Rao advised the teachers to apply for research projects as many funding gencies are ready to grant funds.
