Vijayawada: In a major reshuffle of IPS officers, the state government on Tuesday transferred nine officers, after giving them new postings. Notable among them are the transfers of CID DG Dwaraka Tirumala Rao as Commissioner of Police, Vijayawada and IG Intelligence Mahesh Chandra Laddha as Commissioner of Police, Visakhapatnam.

The post of Commissioner of Police, Vijayawada fell vacant after the incumbent Guatam Sawang was shifted as DG, Vigilance and Enforcement. Dwaraka Tiruamla Rao is 1989 batch IPS officer, while Mahesh Chandra Laddha belongs to 1998 batch. The transfers have been notified after Director General of Police RP Thakur called on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and discussed the transfer of IPS officers.

The other transfers are: T Yoganand, 1998 batch IPS officer, who is the incumbent Commissioner of Police, Visakhapatnam has been posted as Additional Commissioner of Vijayawada. T Ravi Kumar Murthy, a 2003 batch IPS officer, currently working as Joint Commissioner of Police, Vizag has been moved as DIG, Eluru range in the existing vacancy.

Dr Shemushi, 2008 batch IPS officer, who is waiting for posting has been posted as SP, Rajamahendravaram Urban. B Rajakumari, 2007 batch IPS officer who is now SP, Rajamahendravaram, will be the new DCP, Crimes in Vijayawada city.

B Krishna Rao, 2014 batch IPS officer, ASP, currently working in Pulivendula has been transferred as ASP, Tulluru in the existing vacancy. Rahul Dev Singh, 2015 batch IPS officer, ASP, who is waiting for posting has been posted as ASP of Ramapachodavaram. Ajitha Vejandla, 2015 batch officer, is posted as ASP, South Rajamahendravaram, in the existing vacancy.
