Flood water level rises in Godavari at Rajamahendravaram

Rajamahendravaram: With the flood water level is increasing in river Godavari, the officials at Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage have been releasing over 3.90 lakh cusecs of water into the sea. Because of heavy inflows, the water level is likely to be increased for Wednesday night.
Currently, the water level at the barrage is 8.40 feet and all the 176 gates of Ryali, Maddur, Dowleswaram and Vijjeswaram barrages were lifted to a height of one metre.
Over 4,000 cusecs of water is released into Eastern, Central and Western canals. Due to heavy discharge of water, Vrudda Gowthami, Vynateya and Vasista, the tributaries of river Godavari, were also in spate.
