GMC learns no lesson from 30 diarrhoea deaths

Guntur: In spite of 30 diarrhoea deaths in the recent past in the city, contamination of water continues to haunt many areas, especially One Town.

Still municipal tap pipes are merged in the side drains in many areas. In Vasantharayapuram and AT Agraharam areas, the drinking water pipelines laying in the side drains and posing threat to the residents of these areas.

There is a need to shift the drinking water pipelines to avoid drinking water contamination.

The GMC officials have to create awareness and motivate the residents to shift their drinking water pipelines from side drains.

If drinking water pipelines were not relocated, there is possibility of contaminated drinking water supplied to the households.
