Nellore: Civil supplies minister Prathipati Pulla Rao said that the government is planning to issue new ration cards in August. Participating in a review meet with district officials at new Zilla Parishad meeting hall here on Sunday, the minister said the government had received 1.98 applications for new ration cards across the state.
“We will distribute new ration cards soon after scrutinising the applications in August and will give permission for supplying essential commodities,” the minister stated. Stating 54,000 new ration cards distributed in the state, Pulla Rao also said the government would increase commission on pulses to FP shop dealers. He stated the government had increased commission on dal from Rs 70 paisa to Rs 1.05 paisa earlier.
He appealed to FP shop dealers to inform toll free complaint number 1100 to resolve iris and biometric related issues. Pulla Rao informed that they had resolved 21,000 ration card related complaints received through toll free complaint number 1100.
He also explained that they would provide additional incentives to dealers, who distributes commodities more than 2,000 beneficiaries from their shops. Pulla Rao also said that dealers must take measures to sell pulses and dal from their shops to beneficiaries.
Measures would be taken to provide sim cards to dealers after discussing with the service providers, said the minister. He also said that dealers have to check weight of their stocks at the godowns when they receive commodities.
Minister P Narayana said that they had resolved minor issues raised by the FP shop dealers in the review meeting. MLC B Ravichandra Yadav, MLAs P Sunil Kumar, K Ramakrishna, collector R Mutyala Raju and joint collector Vetri K Selvi were present.
