Kakinada: Perhaps in his first acerbic comments on Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan, YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy termed him “an evergreen bride groom (nitya pellikoduku) who changes wives like cars and already changed three. “It is a waste of time to speak about such persons .He doesn’t have moral values but speaks about these values on public platforms,” he said.

Jaganmohan Reddy said any other person with such character would have been behind the bars but he was in public because of his stature, he said. Jaganmohan Reddy made these remarks at the fag-end of his media conference at Samalkot in East Godavari late on Tuesday evening.

The immediate trigger for Jagan’s outbursts was a question from a reporter of a vernacular , which was reportedly acquired by Pawan Kalyan, at the end of press conference. Jagan alleged that whenever Chandrababu Naidu needs, he brings out Pawan in the form of press meet. “Later, Pawan disappears,” he said.

“It is unfortunate and sad that I am supposed to comment on characters (persons) like Pawan Kalyan. He sailed with TDP-BJP for four years and did injustice to people of AP,” the YSRCP chief said. This is the first time during his 219 days of Padayatra that Jagan made such harsh remarks on Jana Sena chief.

He criticised the discrimination shown by police towards the YSRCP activists and the large number of arrests made during the bandh. He also gave statistics district-wise.

He thanked the people of the state extending support for the bandh despite police repression and condoled the death of party activist Dura Prasad of Buttayagudem in West Godavari during the bandh.
