Guntur: Industries minister N Amaranatha Reddy said that would make sincere efforts to retain the number one position in the Ease of Doing Business.

He set the foundation stone for the construction of new building complex for District Industries Centre in the city at a cost of Rs 3 crore on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that new industries worth Rs 15,000 crore were set up in the state due to efforts made by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and added the industries provide employment to 10 lakh unemployed youth.

He said that Vizag-Chennai corridor would be developed at a cost of Rs 5,600 crore to provide world-class infrastructure and to generate employment opportunities.

Stating that the Coastal Employment Zone would attract Rs 50,000 crore investments, the minister said that the government has taken all steps to develop the state as automobile hub.

Civil Supplies Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao said that the district was ideal to set up agro-based industries and urged the youth to come forward to set up industrial units availing the facilities provided by the government. He said the DIC building would be completed in nine months.

Social welfare minister Nakka Anand Babu said though the Centre denied Special Category Status to the state, Naidu was trying to get more industries to AP. Collector Kona Sasidhar and Mirchi Yard chairman Mannava Subba Rao were present.
