Hundreds of property registrations were rejected in the last week at SubRegistrar offices across the district as the online server link containing KYC details of Aadhaar were not opening

Tirupati: Hundreds of property registrations were rejected in the last week at Sub-Registrar offices across the district as the online server link containing KYC details of Aadhaar were not opening. On an average, 500 to 600 properties are being registered in 26 Sub-Registrar offices every day in the district. The district contributing Rs 100 crore to the state exchequer through registration of properties every year.

Staff at the Sub-Registrar offices will proceed with the registration process only when unique number for registration is generated once the personal details of a prospective seller and buyer are accessed through the KYC link of Aadhaar. Unaware of technical glitch, property purchasers are paying lakhs of rupees towards stamps and registration fees but were unable to register their properties.

Three days ago, more than 10 registrations were not registered at a Sub-Registrar office in Tirupati due to non-opening of Aadhaar-KYC link. Asked about the reason for not registering the properties, staff says because of technical error in opening of KYC link of Aadhaar within the time limit. Officials of the Stamps and Registration department say that they are not responsible for not opening of server link containing Aadhaar-KYC details.

Speaking to The Hans India, VSR Prasad, Registrar of Balaji Registration district said that they have been receiving several complaints from the prospective property sellers and purchasers. “We are helpless as the state government had fixed a rule that they cannot proceed with the registration without accessing the Aadhaar-KYC details from the server,” he said, adding that issue was taken to the notice of Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy. He further said higher officials are seriously contemplating to resolve the technical error permanently which was arising every day at Sub-Registrar offices in the districts.
