Tirupati: PCC president N Raghuveera Reddy urged the youth not to resort to the extreme step of sacrificing their life but fight with renewed vigour for the State to achieve Special Category Status. Raghuveera who came rushing to Madanapalle to participate in the last journey of Sudhakar who committed suicide for the sake of Special Category Status (SCS) on Saturday, in a statement issued to the media appealed to the youth to exercise restraint and wait for 10 months, till the Congress government returns to power to accord the SCS. He demanded an ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakh to Sudhakar’s family.

Expressing his shock and sorrow over the suicide of Sudhakar, he said because of the apathy of both the Centre and State, such sad incidents of youth sacrificing lives were happening in the State. He also met the bereaved family and expressed his condolences to the parents. Raghuveera along with former MLA and State Congress party secretary Shajahan Basha, Chittoor district party president Veugopal and others paid homage and participated in the funeral of Sudhakar.
