Guntur: Dalavai Asha hailing from Srinivasa Rao Thota in the city climbed the Kilimanjaro mountain (5,895 metres) in Tanzania on July 23. For the first time, she climbed the mountain alone.

She started climbing Kilimanjaro Mountain on July 20 and completed the expedition on July 23. As a part of climbing the Mount Everest, she climbed the Kilimanjaro mountains.

She was now planning to climb 5,642 metres height the Elbrus Mountain.
Asha joined NCC while studying B Sc at TJPS College in Guntur in 2007.

While undergoing training in NCC, she showed interest in climbing the mountains. Later, she trained for 28-days at Himalaya Institute of Mountaineers in Darjeeling.

Later, she underwent training at Howtriwal Adventures Institute. Her father Siva Kumar was working in a transport company and mother Anuradha is a housewife. Her brother Satish was studying.

She went to Mushi area in Tanzania country where the day temperature was minus 20 degrees. She went alone and climbed the Kilimanjaro by spending Rs 2.5 lakh from her pocket.

Speaking to The Hans India, Asha said that she did not get any financial assistance from the government and added she was planning to climb the Mount Elbrus. Asha family members also encouraged her to climb the Kilimanjaro Mountain.
