2 youth rape minor for 10 days, arrested

Chintalapudi: Two youth were arrested for raping a minor girl belonging to Social Welfare hostel in Chintalapudi. Three wardens were suspended in connection with the incident.

DSP Ch Murali Krishna addressing the media here on Sunday, said that the stalking duo won the confidence of the girl who was going to her parents place.

They managed to convince the victim with tact talk and took her along with them. The accused, Chodimella Chittibabu and Chodimella Kiran took the girl to Eluru and visited several parks and hotels.

They confined her to an ITI here for three days and raped her repeatedly. After her confinement at an ITI in Chintalapudi, they went to Chittibabu’s elder sister’s house in Eluru.

By introducing the girl as his lover to Chittibabu’s sister, Krian again committed the offence for seven days.

In the meantime, neither the police nor the hostel authorities took any action on the rescue of the missing girl.

When the issue came to light, the social welfare department officials, acting on the directives from the Collector, suspended three wardens.

During her stay at Chittibabu’s sister residence, Kiran photographed the girl while she was taking bath and troubled the girl with the cell phone photos.

The girl is a Class X student and staying in the Chintalapudi SW hostel.

The police arrested the rape accused duo and recovered from them a bike and cell phone.

They were produced before the court. The police are investigating the case.
