Chittoor: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has instructed not to entertain any political interference in the affairs of the famous Sri Varasiddhi Vinayaka Swamy temple in Kanipakam, according to V Surendra Naidu, who was appointed as the Chairman of the temple Trust Board by the government along with 14 others as members. He would be taking an oath as temple chief very shortly.

Speaking to The Hans India, Surendra Naidu has stated that he would give top priority for protecting the interests of the common devotees. He said new Trust Board would strive to meet the expectations of the Chief Minister in providing facilities to devotees. “Our aim is to ensure all amenities to devotees on the lines of Tirumala temple,” he mentioned.

To a question, Surendra said a special drive would be initiated for inviting donations from the philanthropists for the development of the temple. Annual income of the Kanipakam temple has crossed Rs 100 crore, he said, adding online services were introduced for devotees to reserve the accommodation in the temple and Arjitha sevas.

Temple Trust Board Chairman and the Executive Officer should work with coordination for the temple development as per the instructions of the government, he stated. It may be recalled here that the TD government constituted the Trust Board for Kanipakam temple with 15 members including Chairman on Friday after two years.
