Vijayawada: The BJP in the state is going to construct a new party office building at Kolanukonda village on the Guntur-Vijayawada National Highway stretch near Amaravati capital location. Party national leaders including the Union ministers will participate in the foundation stone laying ceremony for the new office building to be held on on August 16.

Nearly one-acre land was donated by a party sympathiser for the office. Interestingly, the BJP selected the same location for its party office along with the TDP, YSRCP and Jana Sena who have already started construction work. According to party sources, the BJP decided to construct new office in Amaravati for AP party affairs following instructions of national leadership which is keen to establish its own buildings in all
the states.

Presently, the party is running its operations from rented building in Vijayawada city. Moreover, the party leadership failed to provide spacious office building in the city limits. In this backdrop, the national leadership has directed the state party leaders to construct a new office.

BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana has taken the initiative to construct the new party office. According to sources, a party sympathiser Madala Srinivas donated one-acre land following the request of BJP. Now, the BJP finalised designs to construct five floor model building for party affairs.

As per sources, the estimated cost of the project is Rs 4 crore and the party national leadership would bear half of the project cost and the remaining amount would be generated by state leadership.

Meanwhile BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana is in Delhi tour to invite national leaders for the foundation stone laying ceremony. Speaking to The Hans India, BJP state secretary Jammula Shyam Kishore said that Union ministers Piyush Goyal, Suresh Prabhu and Nirmala Sitaraman are likely to attend the foundation stone laying ceremony.

Stating that the building would be constructed in a year, he said the present office located in Vijayawada city would be shifted temporarily to Guntur district office soon, he said the state office would be run from the district office for the time being.
