Students told to form anti-ragging panels

Visakhapatnam: In an effort to put an end to ragging and create awareness among the students and also faculty, the Andhra University officials conducted a programme at Ambedhkar Hall here on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Andhra University Vice-Chancellor Prof G Nageswara Rao said that senior students should not harass the first year students, but they should welcome them. Student life is not confined to education, it requires right attitude and understanding human feelings. Teenagers should follow the instructions of faculty and parents for education and career.
ACP A Narasimha Murthy said that the students should welcome freshers and treat them in a positive manner, a healthy relationship should bloom on the campus among the students. He explained provisions of the law and asked students to form Anti-ragging Committees and explained how the police took stringent action against the ragging complaints.
