Tirupati: About 97 percent polling was reported in Chittoor district (Tirupati region) in the election held on Thursday for the recognised union status in the APSRTC. The employees enthusiastically participated in the election, the polling for which went on briskly right from the morning to the closing hour.
There are 6,910 employees working in two divisions Tirupati and Chittoor comprising 14 depots, Regional Manager's office here and in the garage also in the city as voters. The counting of the votes began immediately after the polling ended. In all sixteen counting tables were set up for counting.
