Illegal alterations in land records at mandal level alleged

Anantapur: Vested interests in Revenue department, particularly in mandal offices, are changing land records of small farmers and altering status of ownership in adangal records badly affecting the farmers. Many farmers in several mandals are complaining to Revenue Divisional Officers concerned and the District Collector. The accused are greasing the palms of the Revenue personnel in mandal offices.
Many land disputes are pending in the RDO and Joint Collector courts. In Garladinne mandal Tahsildar office, land records have been changed without issuing notices. On 1st August 2014, an educated farmer K Jabez David has purchased 2.62 acres from Kotanka farmer. But Garladinne Tahsildar transferred the scheduled property from 216 Pass book khatha to unknown person.
David made complaint to District Collector and the endorsement was issued by DRO to RDO and Tahsildar, Garladinne on 24th July. The farmer complained that no action has been taken. Farmer David has been urging the District Revenue officers to address his problem.
