Driver flees with 50 lakh cash
A car driver took away with a cash of Rs 50 lakh after diverting the attention of his owner at Kurnool on Wednesday Speaking to media, Circle Inspector B A Manjunath said one Meda Rama Krishna Reddy, a resident of Chennaiah Garipalle in Nandalore mandal of Kadapa district, lodged a complaint on his car driver Mallikarjuna who was flee away with a cash of Rs 50 lakh kept in the car
Kurnool: A car driver took away with a cash of Rs 50 lakh after diverting the attention of his owner at Kurnool on Wednesday. Speaking to media, Circle Inspector B A Manjunath said one Meda Rama Krishna Reddy, a resident of Chennaiah Garipalle in Nandalore mandal of Kadapa district, lodged a complaint on his car driver Mallikarjuna who was flee away with a cash of Rs 50 lakh kept in the car.
Meda Rama Krishna Reddy, a contractor accompanied with is grandson Meda Sai Krishna Reddy, was reportedly going to his native Chennaiah Garipalle in their own car from Hyderabad. When the duo reached Kurnool, he asked the driver Mallikarjuna to halt at Raj Vihar center for lunch.
While the trio was having lunch, Mallikarjuna completed his meals early and said that he will wait in the car. Being Mallikarjuna a known person and a resident of their native, Rama Krishna Reddy did not suspect the ill intention behind leaving the place so early.
Rama Krishna Reddy and Sai Krishna Reddy after completing lunch reached to their car and waited for the car driver. Despite of an hour passed away, Mallikarjuna did not return.
The duo tried to reach him over phone but his phone was switched off. Raising suspicion they opened the car door and were shocked to door are already opened and the cash bag containing Rs 50 lakhs was also missing, said the officer.
The Circle Inspector said that Rama Krishna Reddy was taking cash to pay the workers, under taken the contract works at Chennaiah Garipalle. He immediately brought the incident to the notice of the police. We went to the place and are tracing the identity of the car driver Mallikarjuna with the help of closed circuit (CC) camera footage.
