Chittoor: Patients are returning homes without medicines as the dispensaries in the 21 government homoeopathy hospitals across the district are facing severe shortage of medicines. As per norms, the government sends drug stocks to dispensaries once in every three months.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Wednesday, Dr Vijay Kumar working as senior medical officer at the Government Homoeopathy Dispensary here said that they did not receive medicines for the last six months.

As a result, the inflow of patients visiting homoeo dispensaries has come down drastically. In recent times, there has been tremendous response from the patients to homoeopathy treatment especially from elderly people.

Vijay Kumar has stated a detailed report was submitted to the government to release the drugs at the earliest. He further said it was mandatory to have a separate block for the homeopathy dispensary in the premises of the Government General Hospital (GGH). The dispensary is being run from a rented building as separate block was not allocated in GGH, he mentioned.
