Man ends life by jumping in canal at Vijayawada

Vijayawada: P Avinash (23), a resident of Baptist Palem in Pezzonipet here committed suicide by jumping into Ryves canal at Alankar Centre in the wee hours of Wednesday.
According to the information given by Governorpet police, Avinash made a phone call to his cousin K Kiran Kumar and informed that he would commit suicide.
Kiran arrived at Alankar Centre by Auto and on seeing Kiran, Avinash jumped into the canal. Kiran immediately informed the police.
The police informed Fire department and SDRF department and the search was on.
The police said Avinash was mentally unstable and was addicted to alcohol. Under the influence of alcohol, he would turn violent.
A missing case was registered and a look out notice was sent to all the police stations under Ryves canal limits.
