Tirupati: The ‘Sanskrit Navarathri’ festival has begun at Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha (RSVP) here on Friday in a grand manner. Special Officer for TTD projects on epics Samudrala Lakshmanaiah, who was chief guest for the function, has stressed that Sanskrit is greater than Greek and Latin languages as advocated by Keith and Max Muller. Sanskrit is the foundation for all other Indian languages, he stated.

The Vice-Chancellor of RSVP Prof V Muralidhara Sharma said that India has gifted the world three invaluable gifts philosophy, ayurveda and yoga and every Indian must be proud of it.

Registrar Prof GSR Krishna Murthy, Co-ordinator Dr Chakravarthy Ranganatham, Dr Bharat Bhushan Rath and Dr Yasaswi also spoke. On this occasion, noted artist Singampalli Satyanarayana has painted the Sanskrit slokas which has received accolades from the audiences.
