Visakhapatnam: Leader of Opposition and YSR Congress Party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy lambasted Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu alleging that Muslim youth were tortured during Nara Hamara-TDP Hamara meeting in Guntur.

The Muslim youth were harassed as they demanded the government to fulfil 2014 election promises, Jaganmohan Reddy stated and sought apology from the Chief Minister. He also demanded withdrawal of cases registered against Muslim youth in this regard.

Continuing his Praja Sankalpa Yatra on the 250th day on Thursday, Jagan met people from various sections in Anakapalle Assembly constituency. He started his Yatra at Tumpala village on the outskirts and continued via Marturu Cross Road, Bavulavada, Trimurthulu Nagar and ended at Darjinagar.

Large number of Muslims met Jagan at various places and informed about the Guntur incident. While responding on the issues, Jagan pacified them and strongly condemned the arrests of the Muslim youth.

"Chandrababu Naidu only invited the Muslims across the State. Why did the police torture the Muslim youth who had demanded for fulfilling of Chief Minister's poll promises, in a democratic spirit, by holding placards? The Chief Minister is thinking that one should not question him and it will be a crime,” Jagan said.
