Vijayawada: The members of Progressive Recognised Teachers Union (PRTU)– Sevadal, headed by its State convener D Srinu met the chairman of the 11th PRC, Ashutosh Mishra, at the Secretariat and submitted a memorandum with the recommendation to consider their demands on Friday.

Srinu said they had requested the 11th PRC chairman to consider their recommendations and ensure pay revision for the teachers. Later speaking to the media, he said that the teachers play a key role in transforming the future of the students and the government should consider the pay of the teachers specially.

The young students are the future citizens of the nation, he said and added that the 11th PRC should attract the intellectual and knowledgeable youth to take up teaching as their profession.

He said that the minimum salary of the teachers should be fixed at Rs 43,180 and also urged the PRC chairman to favourably consider the other demands of the teachers. The teachers felicitated the PRC chief on the occasion.
