200 take part in Taekwondo championship-2018

Visakhapatnam: HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao along with AU Vice-Chancellor Prof G Nageshwar Rao on Monday inaugurated the Taekwondo Championship-2018 at Andhra University Indoor stadium in the city.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the city has been developed in sports sector also after the state government announced to construct sport city. He said the government would build one more stadium with international standards to encourage sports.
The government had allocated Rs 3 crore for Rajeev Kreeda Vikas Sports centres in the city, he said and added the Taekwondo players, who practice regularly, were capable of asses opponent chances and learn new techniques.
He said the government will introduce the ancient art of Taekwondo at all government schools and colleges to train the students in self-defence. Addressing the players, Vice-Chancellor Prof G Nageswara Rao said the sports will help students improve their fitness and help to excel in their academics.
