Tirupati: Devotional fervour touched its peak on Monday as Gokulastami was celebrated at SV Goshala and all other temples in the City with pomp and gaiety. Gopuja was performed at Sri Venkateswara Gosamrakshana Sala in Tirupati. TTD Chairman P Sudhakar Yadav and EO Anil Kumar Singhal along with Tirupati JEO P Bhaskar took part in this puja.

Chairman, on this occasion said, Krishnavatara happens to be the eighth incarnation of Lord Maha Vishnu. Gokulastami was being observed across the country and many parts of the world. TTD’s motto is to enhance indigenous breeds of cows, he added.

In his address, EO said a state of art cattle Goshala is coming up in Palamaneru in 450 acres. We will develop this in a phased manner and the Board has approved Rs.50 crores towards its development.

He also said the farmers and dairy farmers will be informed on the benefits of Pancha Gavya. Trust Board member, Challa Ramachandra Reddy, Tirupati JEO P Bhaskar, SV Goshala Director Dr Harinath Reddy, Dy EO Varalakshmi were also present. Cultural programmes were presented by various artistes, bhajans etc., enthralled everyone.

Meanwhile, Gokulastami Celebrations were also conducted in Tirumala. In Gogarbham Gardens, special Abhishekam was performed to ‘Kaliya Mardana Krishna’ by the Garden Wing of TTD. The Garden Superintendent Srinivasulu took part in this fete. Later Utlotsavam was observed in the premises where enthusiastic youth took part in the mud pot breaking fete.
