Visakhapatnam: Kondapalli Koteswaramma, revolutionary leader, writer, feminist and wife of Kondapalli Seetharamaiah, the founder of People’s War Group (PWG) a naxal outfit, died in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. She was suffering from a brain haemorrhage for the last few weeks.

Koteswaramma celebrated her 100th birthday recently. Koteswaramma played an active role in the Communist party and was involved in various women rights movements. Born in Pamarru of Krishna district, Koteswaramma had her last breath at her granddaughter’s house in Visakhapatnam city.

She was the author of four books including her autobiography ‘Nirjana Varadhi,’ which she wrote at the age of 92 years. She went underground for five years during the Telangana armed struggle supported by Communists against the Nizam rule. The family members said that as per her wish, the body will be donated to Andhra Medical College.
