Kurnool (Mantralayam): The Additional Controller of Drugs (ADC) Chandrasekhar Rao and his team conducted raids on the clinics of Rural Medical Practitioners (RMPs) here on Thursday. During the raids, the team members have seized medicines worth Rs 2 lakh from an RMP Bhaskar that were illegally stocked by him. Later, the ADC speaking to media said that they had information RMPs are prescribing medicines to patients.
“We have seized the unauthorised medicine stocks besides filing a case against Bhaskar for violating the norms. He further said two agencies located in Yemmiganur have supplied the medicines to Bhaskar. He warned RMPs not to prescribe medicines to patients instead they should refer them to the doctors. Drug Inspector Khalander and other police staff accompanied the ADC during the raids.
