Tirupati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday expressed his vision of developing Tirupati as another Shenzhen, a modern metropolis that links Hong Kong with China, as it has been growing fast as hardware hub.

Addressing the employees of Dixon Technologies India after inaugurating the industry near Tirupati on Thursday, Naidu said that effective logistics would play a key role in developing any area which can foster industrial growth. The industry was set up with an investment of Rs 150 crore and provide employment to 900 persons in the first phase. It produces LED TVs, CC cameras and washing machines here.

"Once this area where electronics clusters have now been developed was a dryland. But it is now flourishing with digital industries fulfilling many dreams. The district has got several industries from the three partnership summits.

Sri City has been witnessing rapid and unbelievable growth. Hero Moto Corp has set up its first unit in the district only in South India. While Celkon has already producing mobile phones, Karbon will open its unit shortly. Munoth batteries, Apollo tyres, ceramic industries and several others were in the pipeline," he said.

Naidu said that the government has been taking care of industrial development and bringing a good eco-system in Tirupati area. Besides one international airport in the city, Chennai airport is also very near to the place and Nellore district also will have another airport in the coming days. The city has a port very near to it and being well connected will several 6-lane highways.

A world class railway station is also coming up here. All irrigation projects which connect with the district will be completed by January and it will have plenty of water resources.

He said that Tirupati has been developing as educational and medical hub and it has several distinctions like being the fourth most liveable city and has won many Swachh awards. He recalled that when Kia Motors approached him with the proposal to establish their factory in Anantapur district, they asked for water and were assured to get in six months.

By taking Handri Neeva water government fulfilled its promise and the first car will be rolled out by January 2019, CM said. Saying that it was his commitment to develop the state industrially, he said that it creates many employment opportunities. Naidu praised the district administration for their excellent work due to which several industries have been coming up to the district.

"We are getting industries, and this has become possible with our policies like ease of doing business in which we are number one in the country. In future, the state will be one among the 10 in ease of doing business in the world," Naidu asserted. He said that he has been developing Tirupati out of passion and will make it a beautiful city along with Visakhapatnam and Amaravati.

The city has so many lakes which no other city has. By providing water to all these lakes it will be made as city of lakes he reiterated. By assuring all cooperation, the CM has asked the Chairman of Dixon industries Sunil Vachani and global vice president of Xiaomi industries Manu Kumar Jain to go for massive expansion of their industries.
