Addressing a press conference at GMC office on Monday, he said that GO No 279 was not harmful to sanitation workers and they would get ESI, PF and salary before 5th of every month.

He added the GO was aimed to eliminate middlemen. Stating that at present 900 workers are attending duties regularly, he said the government was using their services for collecting garbage and sweeping.

He said they engage some more sanitation workers to clean the roads and urged the residents to give garbage in their houses to garbage collection workers. He warned that if anybody creates problem to sanitation, he will book cases against them.
