​Rajamahendravaram: Guru Brahma and Vidya Jyothi awards function was held under the aegis of Education Special chief J Ramesh Raja at Anam Rotary hall here on Sunday night. Teachers, both in private and government sectors, were honoured with the awards across the state.

Participating in the awards function, Legislative Council deputy chairman Reddy Subramanyam has said that the teachers should emulate the great teacher Savitribai Pule, who started a first school for women in the country. It was the duty of the teachers to mould students as responsible citizens of the country as the children spends most of the time with them and follow their suggestions.

The country's future depends on the children and the teaching fraternity should teach lessons with quality by enhancing their teaching skills, he said. He congratulated Education Special chief for honouring the teachers every year.

Aditya Educational Group chairman N Sesha Reddy said Ramesh Raja was honouring the teachers in private sector also, which gives encouragement to them and asked him to continue the same in future also. Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai said the teachers should play a pivotal role in society to produce good citizens and advised them to mould them as future hope of the country.

Rotarian Patta Pagalu Venkat Rao, Aditya group director SP Gangi Reddy, press club president Saradhi and Prathiba Group principal Murthy and others were present.
