Kurnool: In a bizarre incident, a man killed his two minor children at Jupadu Bungalow village under Nandikotkur police station limits in Kurnool district in the early hours of Monday. The accused later surrendered to police.

The Sub Inspector G Ashok said that one Sangati Dhanoji Rao, resident of Ganesh Nagar in Kurnool, was married to Jhansi Bhai of Prakasam district, eight years ago. They got two children, Likitha (7) and Madhu (4). Jhansi Bhai was reportedly having extramarital affairs. She used to leave the house without the knowledge of Dhanoji Rao and return after spending some days outside, said the SI.

The family moved to Jupadu Bungalow village four years ago leaving Ganesh Nagar in Kurnool. But there was no change in the behaviour of his wife. Three days ago, Jhansi Bhai left the house leaving Dhanoji Rao and two children. He lodged a complaint with the police then.

As he was in a state of depression, on Monday morning, he first killed his 7-year-old daughter Likhita after slitting her throat with a blade and later killed his 4-year old son Madhu by drowning him in a pool of water. He then surrendered to police. ``We have filed a case and took up investigation,’’ said the Sub Inspector, G Ashok.
