Ongole: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has taken initiatives to increase life standards of the workers, said Raghupati Ramamohan Rao, chairman of Andhra Pradesh Minimum Wages Advisory Board.
He participated as chief guest in the board meeting held in Ongole on Wednesday.
He said that the state government is a worker-friendly government and it is implementing many welfare schemes like Chandranna Bima for them.
He said that the government was implementing many schemes in the unorganised sector and the minimum wages advisory board was established to provide best service to salaried workers.
He said that there were about 1.75 crore workers in various fields in the state and the board was established after 12 years to provide justice to them.
He said that there were very less number of industries in the state and Naidu was trying to bring more industries and make the state as top industrial state in future.
He said that there were 73 scheduled employments in the state and the government was trying to improvise the life standards of all employees and workers in the state.
The representatives from various trade unions like Sattar from AITUC, Majumdar from CITU, Viswanatham from TNTUC, Gabriel from Mahi Tobacco Industries, Wages Advisory Board director Sobharani, deputy commissioner of labor B Yesudas and representatives of various companies and officials also participated in the meeting.
