Hyderabad: The Division Bench of the Hyderabad High Court, comprising Chief Justice T B Radhakrishnan and Justice S V Bhatt, on Friday heard Special Investigation Team constituted for investigating Ayesha Meera murder case.

The SIT submitted to the bench that while the High Court seized of the assassination case, some records which were under the custody of the Vijayawada Court were completely destroyed.

The bench ordered a thorough inquiry into the reported destruction of records. The bench also directed the Registrar General to submit a report within four weeks on the destruction of crucial documents pertaining to the case.

The court also observed that the matter should be investigated by a more competent Central investigating agency, like Central Bureau of Investigation, instead of the State police. The bench has impleaded suo motu Central Bureau of Investigation as one of the parties in the case.
