Cultural teams enthral audience in Tirumala

Tirumala: Eighteen-member team from Gujarat state displayed traditional folk artforms and enthralled the devotees in the galleries of four mada streets during the ongoing Navaratri Brahmotsvams.

The display of Kolata by 50 girls and 30 boys of SV Bala Mandir were among the various cultural events rolled out by the HDPP, Dasa Sahitya and Annamacharya project.

Yadhoda and Shankar of Gurukul from Nalgonda trained them in various dance forms. Among others 31 artistes from Chhattisgarh presented Panti dance while 81dancers from Karnataka displayed their skills in Puja Kunita.

Chilipuli Gombe, Dollu Kunita, Yakshagana, Samana Kunita and Konge dance. Fifty-five artists from Telangana presented Voggu dolu, Komma Koya and Gussadi dance.

Twelve artistes from Kerala performed Pancha Vadyham and 31 from Haryana presented several traditional art forms and entertained the devotees.

Director of SVETA N Mukteswar Rao, SV Bala mandir AEO Tamara Selvi and superintendent Sudhakar supervised the programmes of SV Bala Mandir.

Meanwhile TTD JEO P Bhaskar has said that cultural teams from seven states will present their art forms including dances, bhajans and kolatas on the mada streets on the Garuda Seva Day of Navaratri Brahmotsavams on Sunday.

On the directions of EO Anil Kumar Singhal, he said cultural troupes from AP, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Karnataka, Haryana and Telangana have been invited to participate in the cultural revelry at Srivari Brahmotsavam.
