Tirupati: The city-based senior physician Dr P Krishna Prasanthi has participated in National Women IMA leaders meet – WIMALS 2018 held in New Delhi on Saturday and Sunday.

She was the only doctor represented Andhra Pradesh at the meeting and got the opportunity of giving lecture on “Need for life style modifications for women to make diabetes free India.” More than 400 women leaders from all states attended the meet.

It was the first of its kind in the history of IMA bringing all women leaders together. It was decided at the meeting to start women doctors wing in AP and in all local branches to empower women doctors to join in public health programmes of Central government and to promote holistic healthcare in the society.

Dr Krishna Prasanthi gave lucid presentation on the life style modifications like dietary principles, exercise, meditation and yoga to lead stress-free life and to have good work balance between professional life and personal life.

She said that women doctors are in stress and they should have “Me time to spend with themselves” for their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

Senior most female surgeon and past president of Medical Council of India Dr Jayasree Mehta was the chief guest at the summit. IMA national president Dr Ravi Whandekhar, secretary Dr Tandon, national women wing chairperson Dr Mona Desai and secretary Dr Neetha Biyani took part.
