The students from six schools in Ongole have celebrated the United Nations Day on Wednesday at the NextGen International School on Wednesday
Ongole: The students from six schools in Ongole have celebrated the United Nations Day on Wednesday at the NextGen International School on Wednesday.
The students from each school selected ten countries from each continent and explained their society, culture, life and discussed the issues being faced and expectations from the United Nations in the model General Assembly.
The students also organised a photo exhibition to mark the important moments since the formation of the UN.
They performed Kuchipudi dance, Vandemataram song and acted in a play to remember the performances of MS Subbulakshmi and AR Rahman in the UN.
The portrait of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, drawn by the drawing teacher Ramesh received applause from the audience.
The representatives from various schools appreciated the principal of the NextGen International School, Dr RLV Ramesh, as this is first attempt by all of them to work for a common cause and it is successful.
They said that the programs like this will bring friendship and international brotherhood among the children apart from creating awareness on the various countries in the world.
The school directors Dr Muralidhar, K Srikanth has distributed mementoes and certificates to the children and appreciated the social studies teacher Vijay Michael for organising the event successfully.
