Kakinada: The People’s Voice of Kakinada at its meet on Thursday, demanded unveiling of statues of two prominent people’s representatives of Kakinada associated with public life over five decades. They were kept covered for the last two years at Market tank park premises.

The statues of former municipal chairman and former MLA CVK Rao and former minister Malladi Swami.

CVK (Chittajallu Venkata Krishna) Rao, sacrificed his studies of ICS in London [UK] and returned to India to participate in the independence movement. Later, he served as both the municipal chairperson and the MLA with the Communist ideology.

Malladi Swami who served as minister in combined AP in Dr M Chenna Reddy Cabinet had been associated with Congress and strived for the welfare of BCs particularly fishermen community.

The meet demanded that the two statues which were kept under cover for the last two years should be unveiled immediately as mark of respect to the two prominent leaders of Kakinada.
