Amaravati: Defending the TDP’s alliance with the Congress party, Minister for Finance Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that the TDP was not born against Congress alone but against monarchical ruling. He explained that the TDP has been working for larger interests of the nation and as part of it the party entered into an alliance with the Congress. Ramakrishnudu added that the TDP will fight for the poor and marginalised sections in the State.

He said that the party has been fighting against the autocratic rule at the Centre and as part of it they have been entering into alliance with all non-BJP parties. Reacting to the criticism launched by the YSRCP and Jana Sena parties against TDP after the party national president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met Congress president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi a couple of days ago, Ramakrishnudu said that at present the political situation in the country was more horrible than 1982.

He said TDP founder N T Rama Rao had set up the party to fight against the corrupt and anarchical rule. Currently also the country was facing multiple problems under the rule of Narendra Modi. Hence, the TDP took a strategic decision to unite all Opposition parties to end the BJP rule, he said.
