Kurnool: Tense situation has prevailed for some time in Banaganapalle as the cops took YSRCP leader Katasani Rami Reddy into custody on Monday. Two days ago, YSRCP cadre took out a rally in Banaganapalle. When the rally was passing near the house of Banaganapalle MLA BC Janardhan Reddy, his brothers BC Raja Reddy and BC Ramnath Reddy have opposed it. A heated argument arose between YSRCP leaders and MLA’s brothers. The YSRCP leaders alleged that MLA’s brothers accompanied with their followers have attacked the YSRCP activists.

Katasani Rami Reddy had lodged a complaint against BC Raja Reddy and BC Ramnath Reddy in the police station, alleging that they had attacked their party men during the rally. There are allegations that police did not take action on the brothers of MLA despite the complaint lodged two days ago. The police have taken Katasani Rami Reddy into custody instead of taking action on MLA’s brothers, the YSRCP leaders alleged. The YSRCP workers staged a protest in front of police station to release Rami Reddy immediately. According to sources, Rami Reddy was taken into custody as a preventive measure to avoid untoward incidents in the TDP rally which was supposed to be conducted on Monday. The leaders alleged that the cops are acting at the behest of TD leaders.
