Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee is organising protest demonstrations at all district headquarters throughout the State on Friday recalling the black day of demonetisation which was announced on November 8, 2016.

APCC general secretary Janga Gauram, in a statement here on Thursday, recalled that demonetisation affected the common man from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Gandhinagar to Gangtok destroying the fragile Indian economy.

He said that two years after the announcement of demonetisation, people all over the country are yet to recover from the damage it had caused. ``The employment opportunities have taken a severe beating and the GDP suffered a setback,” he said.

Infrastructure and banking sectors are still struggling in the country and the rupee lost its value, he said and added that the prices of the essential commodities are skyrocketing.

The Congress activists throughout the State would stage protest demonstrations on Friday demanding resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he added.
